Profile

Over the past twenty-three years, Aly Dossa has focused his expertise on intellectual property counseling and litigation for software, hardware, medical device and consumer device companies of all sizes, from startups to Fortune 100 companies. He currently serves as both the chair of the Intellectual Property Practice, and the Data Security & Privacy Practice.

Aly has a multidisciplinary understanding of how data flows through systems and interfaces, and how companies can strategically implement their technology. With this knowledge, Aly is able to distinctively identify and anticipate trends and risks in a cross-section of industries while providing forward-thinking, customized legal strategies.

As the chair for the firm’s Data Security & Privacy Practice, Aly leverages his expansive technology and industry experience to help clients navigate the incredibly dynamic regulatory landscape. He advises on a wide range of data privacy and protection issues, from information handling, cross-border data transfers, global compliance obligations, mitigating and responding to data breaches and theft, to commercial transactions support, including M&A due diligence.

As the chair of the Intellectual Property Practice, Aly utilizes his technological background to develop and implement powerful global intellectual property strategies, domestic and foreign patent prosecution, domestic and foreign trademark prosecution, draft and negotiate licenses, provide non-infringement opinions, invalidity opinions, and to conduct due diligence.

Aly has earned certifications as a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) and as a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
