We believe that our position as a mid-size, full-service firm gives us greater flexibility and responsiveness, fewer conflicts of interest and a more client-focused perspective.
We regularly represent public companies with in-house legal departments. We structure and manage each project in a manner that complies with the policies and procedures established by our institutional clients. We believe that our position as a mid-size, full-service firm gives us greater flexibility and responsiveness, fewer conflicts of interest and a more client-focused perspective. We understand and appreciate the responsibilities and capabilities of in-house legal professionals, and our attorneys know their roles in meeting the specific requirements of our corporate counsel clients.
Whether acting as a resource for in-house professionals or concluding a turn-key project, our goal is to assist corporate counsel in accomplishing the objectives of the company as efficiently as possible. We strive to staff engagements in a manner that efficiently addresses the tasks at hand, having more senior attorneys take responsibility for those aspects of a matter requiring their experience and judgment while assigning to junior attorneys responsibilities more appropriate to their skill levels. Although more experienced attorneys represent higher hourly rates, we have found that in many cases they conclude matters more efficiently and are more cost-effective. Of course, senior attorneys are always available to our clients as needed for strategic advice and counseling.
Ultimately, our measure of a successful relationship will be the difficulty of distinguishing outside and inside counsel because of their collaboration in executing the company’s goals.
