Habeeb ‘Hobbs’ Gnaim led Two Transactions Winning Deal of the Year at the 22nd Annual M&A Advisor Awards Gala
The M&A Advisor announced the winners of its 22nd Annual M&A Advisor Awards at a gala held at The New York Athletic Club in New York City on November 15th, 2023, including two winning transactions led by Habeeb ‘Hobbs’ Gnaim, chair of Chamberlain Hrdlicka’s Tax Planning & Business Transactions practice.
The acquisition of C&D Scrap Metal Recyclers Co., Inc. by Company of Merchants, won the Industrials Deal of the Year. The transaction was also a finalist in the Corporate/Strategic Deal of the Year category. Chamberlain Hrdlicka’s Houston-based team, led by Gnaim, represented Merchants Metals Recycling II CD in the transaction. Michael Overstreet (tax planning/business transactions), Umair Karowadia (tax planning/business transactions), Matthew Stirneman (banking/finance), Jack Najarian (real estate), and Aly Dossa (Intellectual Property) assisted with the transaction.
Furthermore, the acquisition of EYP by Page Southerland Page won the Professional Services Deal of the Year. The transaction was also a finalist in Restructuring Deal of the Year category. Chamberlain Hrdlicka’s shareholders, Gnaim and Jarrod Martin, represented Page Southerland Page in the transaction. Martin, who leads the firm’s Bankruptcy, Restructuring & Creditor Rights group, played a leading role in the transaction.
Another transaction led by Gnaim - the acquisition of Monarch Silica, LLC by ProFrac Holdings II, LLC – was named a finalist in the Materials Deal of the Year and the Corporate/Strategic Deal of the Year categories. Chamberlain Hrdlicka represented Monarch Silica in the transaction. Umair Karowadia (tax planning/business transactions), Jack Najarian (real estate), David Pierson (corporate) and Christopher Hydrick (tax planning/business transactions), assisted with the transaction.
Finally, Chamberlain Hrdlicka was named a finalist in the Law Firm of the Year category.
