Overview
Mallory Reader is an associate with Foster Swift's Municipal Practice Group in the firm’s Grand Rapids office. In addition to helping local units of government with their legal issues, she also practices in the areas of administrative law, licensing and election & campaign finance law.
Growing up Hartland, Michigan, Mallory knew she wanted to be a lawyer since high school “I first became interested in law during my high school government class's unit on the judicial branch. My teacher taught us about Supreme Court cases impacting the rights of students, and I was instantly hooked.”
Before entering private practice, Mallory worked for a prominent Washington DC think-tank where she authored amicus briefs on the topics of individual rights and administrative agency power.
Mallory graduated in 2020 from the University of Notre Dame Law School. While earning her Juris Doctor degree, she was President of the Schools's Public Interest Law Forum and was an articles editor for the Journal of Legislation Vol. 46. Prior to that, Mallory earned her B.A. in Political Science, cum laude from Hope College in Holland Michigan.
