LANSING, Mich. –Foster Swift Collins & Smith, P.C. attorneys Allison M. Collins, Leslie A. Dickinson, Julie L. Hamlet, Mark T. Koerner, Warren H. Krueger, and Michael C. Zahrt have been elected as shareholders of the firm.
Collins* practices from the firm’s Lansing office where she has extensive experience in environmental litigation in both state and federal courts. Her practice also includes insurance coverage, insurance defense and agricultural law; she is the current leader of the firm's agri-business practice group.
Dickinson* is a member of Foster Swift's municipal and general litigation practice groups. Leslie advises the firm's public entity clients including cities, townships, counties, villages, libraries and local health departments on compliance with applicable state and federal laws. In addition to her work with municipalities, Leslie also handles a wide range of commercial litigation matters where she has represented businesses, health care entities, property owners and insurance companies. Leslie practices from the firm’s Grand Rapids office.
Hamlet* practices from the Grand Rapids office as a member of the firm’s health care and employee benefits practice groups. She advises healthcare providers on a wide range of regulatory issues, including compliance with the Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, HIPAA, and Medicare and Medicaid regulations. She assists businesses with the design and implementation of qualified retirement and welfare benefit plans to ensure compliance with ERISA and relevant IRS requirements.
Koerner practices from the Lansing office. He helps municipal entities, businesses and information technology clients find practical solutions to complex problems. Having joined the firm in August 2018, his practice includes drain law, transit law, labor and employment law, information technology law and municipal, commercial and civil litigation. Koerner also practices in Illinois.
Krueger practices in the firm’s Lansing office as a member of the trusts & estates practice group. Having joined the firm in October 2018, Krueger practices in the areas of estate planning, estate administration and probate, civil litigation, and real property.
Zahrt* practices from the Grand Rapids office as a member of the firm’s business & tax and trusts & estates practice groups. He specializes in business succession planning, federal tax law, mergers and acquisitions, and estate planning. Many of his clients are closely held family businesses and agri-businesses.
*Collins, Dickinson, Hamlet and Zahrt were summer associates in 2013 before rejoining the firm as attorneys in 2014.
