Overview
Nathan Wood is a member of Foster Swift's Trusts & Estates practice group in the firm's Lansing office, focused on estate planning and trusts and estates litigation.
Nate’s planning practice includes providing advice on and preparing a wide variety of lifetime and estate planning related documents including Wills, Trusts, Durable Powers of Attorney, Prenuptial Agreements, and Trust funding documents.
He enjoys meeting and talking with clients about their lives and helping them determine and achieve their current and long-term planning objectives. He works with a range of people, from young singles to new and growing families, empty nesters, retirees, and more. He was drawn to the estate planning area because he saw its practical application in real life, including in his own extended family, and a need he could fill by helping other people plan.
Typically, Nate begins drafting documents for a client immediately upon being retained and sends them to the clients within a few days. When clients trust him with the details of their lives, he wants to get the work done well and out the door for them.
Outside of work, Nate is an avid tennis player, and he has recently added pickleball to his repertoire. He enjoys traveling internationally and capturing landscapes with his camera.
Nate received his Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law. Prior to attending MSU Law, he received both his B.S. in Political Science magna cum laude and his Masters of Public Administration from Central Michigan University.
