Foster Swift attorney Laura J. Genovich was named Chairperson of the Steering Committee for the Bankruptcy Section of the Federal Bar Association (Western District of Michigan).
The Bankruptcy Section organizes educational programming and social events for the bankruptcy bar, supports pro bono initiatives, and fosters the relationship between the bench and bar. Most notably, the Bankruptcy Section conducts an annual three-day seminar each summer in Northern Michigan, which is well attended by the bankruptcy bar and attracts nationally recognized speakers.
Laura practices in the areas of bankruptcy law, municipal law, and trial-level and appellate litigation. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Ohio University summa cum laude, and her Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, also summa cum laude. Laura is a contributing author to the Michigan Bankruptcy Blog and has taught bankruptcy law as an adjunct professor at Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
