Jesse C. Dyer is a Partner in the Tallahassee office of Shutts & Bowen LLP, where he is a member of the Appellate Practice Group.
Practicing in both state and federal courts, Jesse has experience handling complex cases and legal issues, with an emphasis on insurance disputes representing insurers. He has varied experience ranging from defending tort cases to representing clients in civil governmental investigations. Jesse has successfully handled numerous appeals and also has significant litigation and courtroom experience, having handled all stages of the litigation process including dispositive motion hearings, trials and post-trial motion practice.
Before joining Shutts, Jesse served as a law clerk for the Honorable Thomas D. Winokur of Florida’s First District Court of Appeal. He then served as Assistant General Counsel for the Florida Department of State, advising the Department on election matters and litigating election disputes in both state and federal court. In addition, Jesse served as Assistant General Counsel for the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, advising the Division of Hotels and Restaurants and prosecuting numerous administrative hearings. Jesse also served as an Assistant District Attorney in Juneau, Alaska. While in law school, Jesse served as an instructor of property law.
