On May 27, Shutts & Bowen LLP’s Miami office hosted a business delegation from the Khorezm region of Uzbekistan during their recent visit, led by the region’s Governor Jurabek Rakhimov, and coordinated in partnership with the International Business Committee of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce.

Aleksey Shtivelman, a partner in Shutts’ International Litigation & Arbitration Group who focuses on cross-border disputes and international business matters, moderated the event and was joined by immigration partner Glenn Cooper, together with Russian-speaking associates Tarmo Jõeveer and Rachel Lisitsa.

The event brought together government officials, business leaders, and industry representatives from sectors including infrastructure, tourism, manufacturing, healthcare, agriculture, technology, finance, and investment to discuss opportunities for collaboration and cross-border growth between Uzbekistan and South Florida. The program included remarks regarding Miami’s growing role as a global gateway city.
