Fort Lauderdale, FL – Shutts & Bowen LLP is proud to announce that Sidney C. Calloway has been named Managing Partner of the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office, effective January 1, 2025. Calloway’s appointment, which succeeds partner Joseph M. Goldstein, draws on the strength of Calloway’s business and leadership acumen to fuel its client-based service delivery and a sustainable course for growth and profitability.
Calloway, who has long served as Co-Chair of the firm’s Government Law Practice Group and a member of the Contract Partners Committee, is recognized statewide for his public and community service in addition to an extensive history of mentoring young lawyers. Under Joe’s leadership, we have grown our office with many high-value attorneys and designed, constructed, and moved into world-class space,” said Francis E. “Frank” Rodriguez, Chair of Shutts & Bowen’s Executive Committee.
“Sidney’s leadership experience, deep community involvement, and unwavering dedication to his clients make him the ideal choice to lead our Fort Lauderdale office,” said Firmwide Managing Partner Jack C. McElroy. “Under his guidance, the office will continue to deliver unparalleled legal services and innovative solutions to meet the needs of our clients.”
Calloway has a laudable history of civic engagement and service to the legal community throughout the State, including his service as the Vice Chair of the Florida Transportation Commission, a member of the Judicial Nominating Commission for the 17th Judicial Circuit, Florida Bar Grievance Committee for the 17th Judicial Circuit, and Vice Chair of the Early Learning Coalition of Broward County. He is a Past Chair of the Urban League of Broward County and the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce. Calloway currently serves on the board of directors for the Port Everglades Association, Truist Bank Advisory Board, and the Archbishop Edward A. McCarthy High School.
