
Shutts & Bowen LLP is pleased to announce that Fort Lauderdale attorney Janeil Morgan has been selected as a Fellow of The Florida Bar’s Wm. Reece Smith, Jr. Leadership Academy, Class XIV.
The Leadership Academy is a highly competitive, multi-session program designed to identify and cultivate emerging leaders within Florida’s legal community. Each year, a select group of attorneys from across the state is chosen to participate based on their demonstrated leadership potential and commitment to the profession.
Administered by The Florida Bar, the Leadership Academy provides participants with a comprehensive curriculum focused on enhancing leadership skills, professional development, and engagement with the legal system. Fellows take part in a year-long program that includes educational sessions, collaboration opportunities, and involvement in initiatives that support the legal profession and broader community. The Wm. Reece Smith, Jr. Leadership Academy has trained hundreds of attorneys who have gone on to serve in leadership roles within The Florida Bar and their communities, further strengthening the profession statewide.
Janeil’s selection to Class XIV reflects her dedication to excellence in the practice of law and her commitment to serving both clients and the community. Through the program, she will join a distinguished network of attorneys who are shaping the future of the legal profession in Florida.
About Janeil A. Morgan
Janeil A. Morgan is an Associate in the Fort Lauderdale office of Shutts & Bowen LLP, where she is a member of the Government Law Practice Group.
She focuses her practice on local government law, litigation, and procurement and administrative law. Her experience representing municipal agencies includes drafting human resource policies, resolutions and ordinances, public records and Florida’s Sunshine law/open government laws, as well as municipal code enforcement and land use and development regulations. Janeil has significant experience in litigation, including the foreclosure of municipal code enforcement liens and actions for declaratory and injunctive relief. She has actively represented a municipal governing body, as well as the planning and zoning board, charter review, civil service board and other advisory boards. Janeil also assists with internal investigations for public and not-for-profit organizations concerning employee grievances, ethics and code of conduct, discrimination and harassment matters, and litigation related to prosecuting municipal code enforcement liens.
