Profile
Alissa Gipson is a Senior Associate in the Tax Controversy, International Tax, State and Local Tax and Tax Planning sections in the Houston office. Ms. Gipson’s experience includes assisting clients with examinations and administrative appeals, state and local tax controversies, cross border civil and criminal tax matters, trust and estate matters, overseas tax effects, white-collar criminal defense and investigations, Affordable Care Act tax requirements and domestic and international tax planning matters.
Ms. Gipson is a member of the Firm’s Diversity and Attorney Development Committee, Recruiting Committee and Pro Bono Committee. Ms. Gipson is also active in several community organizations, including as a member of the Steering Committee of the University of Houston Law Center’s Black Law Alumni organization and a mentor with the University of Houston Law Center’s Pipeline Program. She recently co-authored an article on Diversity, Inclusion and Retention in Law Firms for The Legal Intelligencer and has since presented the topic for a Thomson Reuters CLE and the Federal Bar Association’s Section on Taxation.
