Jack Erkal joins Chamberlain Hrdlicka as Tax Controversy Associates in Atlanta Office
Chamberlain Hrdlicka welcomes Associate Cenk “Jack” A. Erkal to the firm’s Atlanta office. Erkal and Horton join the nationally recognized Tax Controversy & Litigation practice, composed of attorneys experienced in advising and representing taxpayers before federal, state and local taxing authorities and in all federal and state courts where tax disputes are litigated. Erkal is the latest addition to Chamberlain’s Atlanta office, which has been experiencing rapid growth, adding ten lawyers to its headcount in 2021.
Erkal focuses his practice on representing taxpayers in disputes with the Internal Revenue Service at all stages of tax controversy. Prior to joining Chamberlain, Erkal served as a tax attorney for a firm based in Savannah, Georgia, where his practice focused on tax planning and corporate taxation. He also served as a tax analyst for an accounting firm, where he advised multinational corporations of their potential state and local tax liabilities. While in law school, Erkal served as a student attorney in the Philip C. Cook Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic, where he represented low-income taxpayers in tax disputes against the Internal Revenue Service. Erkal earned his undergraduate degree from Georgia State University, his law degree from Georgia State University College of Law and his Masters of Law in taxation from the University of Florida Fredric G. Levin College of Law.
