David Calvillo featured in January issue of the Texas Bar Journal
David Calvillo, shareholder in Chamberlain Hrdlicka’s Houston and San Antonio offices, has been featured in the State Bar Director Spotlight in the January edition of the Texas Bar Journal.
Calvillo reflected on his legal career, lessons learned and the meaning of community service. He encouraged all lawyers to volunteer time with their respective bar associations. “Such service improves the administration of justice, ennobles the profession in the eyes of the public, and enriches the career experience of lawyers,” said Calvillo. “Service to one’s bar association, and thus the profession, is the fundamental point at which our daily endeavor changes from just a job to a profession.”
Calvillo has served on the State Bar of Texas’ Executive Committee of the State Bar Board of Directors since 2020. For 2022-2023, he is the Board Liaison with the Texas Bar Foundation, as well as the Board Liaison with the Board of Disciplinary Appeals and the Tax Section of the State. Furthermore, he has been reappointed as the Chair of the State Bar of Texas’ Audit & Finance Committee and serves as a member of the Budget Committee.
Calvillo is an accomplished board-certified civil trial lawyer, certified public accountant, and certified valuation analyst, and brings a variety of skill sets to his practice. He has successfully tried, litigated, and arbitrated matters in diverse practice areas, including breach of contract, federal tax, property tax, business separation, business torts, construction, shareholder rights, professional negligence, personal injury and wrongful death, employment, debt collection, and intellectual property matters.
