San Antonio Office Adds to Tax Controversy & Litigation Practice
Bryan Dotson recently joined Chamberlain Hrdlicka as senior counsel in the firm’s Tax Controversy & Litigation practice in San Antonio.

A talented litigator, Bryan will focus his practice on representing clients in disputes with taxing authorities at the state and federal levels. Bryan spent a decade as an attorney for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Office of Chief Counsel where his primary responsibility was to represent the IRS before the United States Tax Court. At the IRS, Dotson was regularly recognized for his trial work, receiving several awards and regularly serving as an instructor at several trial practice and procedure courses for the IRS attorneys. His experience at the IRS spanned every stage of the tax reporting and collecting process, from reviewing returns to collection alternatives and bankruptcy.
Prior to joining Chamberlain Hrdlicka, Bryan was a senior tax attorney at a national tax controversy law firm, where he handled a variety of state and local tax controversy matters including sales and use tax, state corporate income tax (including the Texas franchise and margin taxes), motor vehicle sales tax, oil and gas severance tax, insurance tax, motor fuels tax, mixed beverage tax, tobacco products tax, unclaimed property, tax credits/incentives, nexus disputes, audits, hearings, trials and appeals, tax collection cases, voluntary disclosure agreements, letter rulings, and open records requests.
Bryan graduated from the University of Houston with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. He earned a master’s degree in personal financial planning from the Texas Tech University, and received a law degree from the Texas Tech School of Law. He is an active member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation.
