Renesha Fountain receives Outstanding Service as Council Member – Tax Law recognition from State Bar of Texas
At the recent State Bar of Texas’ Annual Meeting, Renesha Fountain, senior counsel at Chamberlain Hrdlicka, received the Outstanding Service as Council Member in Tax Law recognition as part of the 2020-2021 Texas State Bar Awards.
Fountain maintains an active practice in tax planning and tax controversy, representing clients in disputes with the IRS and state and local taxing authorities. Her experience includes handling depositions, installment agreements, offers in compromise, requests for collection due process hearings, requests for innocent spouse relief and claims for refund. She also routinely drafts motions, protests, responses to discovery requests, Tax Court petitions and letters requesting penalty and interest abatement. In addition to assisting with trial preparation in civil tax matters, Fountain is well versed in preparation of organizational documents for partnerships and limited liability companies.
Fountain graduated summa cum laude from Louisiana State University, where she has also earned her law degree from the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center. She also holds the LL.M. degree in Taxation from the Georgetown University Law Center. She is an active member of the State Bar of Texas, Taxation Section, where she is currently serving as the treasurer. She is also a member of the Houston Bar Association, Taxation Section; and the American Bar Association, Taxation Section.
