John Meredith named among Nation’s Top 50 Chief Operating Officers
Chamberlain Hrdlicka is pleased to announce that Chief Operating Officer John Meredith was named one of the top 50 chief operating officers (COO) nationwide during the 2022 OnCon Icon Awards held on May 12, 2022. He was listed at number 30 on the list. Award winners were selected by their peers in the COO community. Voters selected COOs they felt demonstrated a good mix of success and positive impact on their organization and/or previous organizations, made strong contributions to the COO community through thought leadership, demonstrated innovation, and exhibited great leadership. Meredith has served as Chamberlain Hrdlicka’s COO since 2017. He focuses on firm operations including accounting, diversity & inclusion, human resources, information technology, marketing & business development, pro bono, records, real estate & facilities and research. After law school, Meredith worked as an attorney at a Houston law firm and has maintained his law license throughout his career. In 1997, he founded Aspiring Youth, a nonprofit organization that organizes and implements after school programs for at-risk youth and served as and was president and general counsel for eight years. Following that position, Meredith served as a law firm business director and then became executive director and general counsel at SpringSpirit, a nonprofit focused on providing safe pathways for under-served youth and families. After that, he served as a law firm executive director and then joined Chamberlain Hrdlicka.
Meredith earned an undergraduate degree from the University of North Georgia, a graduate degree in business administration from Georgia Tech, a law degree from Baylor University School of Law, and a graduate degree in public administration from Harvard University. He serves as the Chair of the Houston Bar Association Law Practice Management Section and Vice-Chair of the State Bar of Texas Law Practice Management Committee.
