Tom Cullinan quoted in Tax Notes Federal article

In an article published in Tax Notes Federal on September 14, 2023, Atlanta-based Shareholder Tom Cullinan is included in a round-up of sources discussing the IRS’s proposed new program in light of an overwhelming number of Employee Retention Credit claims.

“Allowing taxpayers to withdraw claims that have not yet been paid – even if their case is under audit – will save both the IRS and taxpayers time and money,” said Cullinan. 

In the article, Cullinan commended the IRS for hinting at leniency in the forthcoming settlement program. He shared that this program would provide a way for businesses to return paid claims without penalty or risk of a future compliance action.
