The Chamberlain Hrdlicka Tax Forum was held in Atlanta on June 23, 2022 at Crowne Plaza Ravinia
Chamberlain Hrdlicka held a Tax Forum at the Crowne Plaza at Ravinia on Thursday, June 23, from 7:20 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. The forum showcased a presentation on, “How to Be a Marquis Trustee: Fiduciary Duties, Liabilities, and Tax Savings Opportunities.” The event was open to the public, and had accountants, business leaders responsible for financial operations, financial planners, and lawyers who guide clients in tax matters in attendance. The detailed event description can be found here.
Attendees gained valuable knowledge from members of Chamberlain Hrdlicka’s nationally recognized estate planning practice. The presentation incorporated lessons learned from decades of experience in trust and estate planning in order to provide the sophisticated advisor with a crash course in the A-B-C’s of being a Marquis Trustee. The attorneys also addressed issues to consider when accepting or resigning from trusteeship; the duties, obligations, and risks of serving as a Trustee; and how to go above and beyond those duties to provide value to your friends, family or clients.
The panel was moderated by Atlanta-based Shareholder J. Scot Kirkpatrick and panelists included Shareholder Steven M. Wyatt, Senior Counsel Stephen C. Heymann and Associate Jasmin Severino.
