Attorneys in the Chamberlain Hrdlicka Atlanta, Houston and San Antonio offices elevated to Equity Shareholder and Shareholder
Chamberlain Hrdlicka is pleased to announce that it has elevated four shareholders to equity status and elevated six attorneys to shareholder status. The new equity shareholders are Atlanta-based attorneys Jennifer Duval Lindy, Jeffrey S. Luechtefeld, Robert Jeffrey Waddell and Houston-based attorney Julie R. Offerman. Additionally, Atlanta-based attorneys Cassandra S. Bradford, Jasen Hanson, Stephen C. Heymann, Houston-based attorneys Jack Najarian and Michael B. Overstreet and San Antonio-based attorney Leo Unzeitig were elevated to shareholder. These promotions were affirmed during the firm's annual meeting held in Houston on Feb. 4, 2023.

Bradford is a member of the Tax Controversy and Litigation Section in Atlanta. She defends clients in state and federal audits and appeals, as well as litigation in the Tax Court and other federal courts. At Chamberlain, Bradford has represented clients with a wide array of disputes with the Internal Revenue Service
(IRS) and state taxing authorities, including issues with conservation easements, captive insurance companies, TEFRA and BBA partnerships, international information returns, late election relief, worker classification, reasonable compensation, etc. She has spent her entire legal career at Chamberlain since graduating from Georgia State University’s joint JD/MBA program, where she worked as a graduate research assistant and student attorney at the Phillip C. Cook Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic for over two years. Before attending graduate school, Bradford earned her bachelor’s degree in International Affairs from Mercer University, where she was a Penfield Scholar and part of the Honors Program.
Hanson is a member of the Tax Controversy and Litigation Section in Atlanta. He represents individuals and business entities before the IRS and Department of Justice – Tax Division (DOJ) from examination through appellate court review. Hanson’s experience includes resolving a variety of issues for high-net-worth individuals and closely held family entities, including method of accounting issues, passive activity losses, hobby loss activities, collection due process hearings, cancellation of debt income exclusions, conservation easement and façade easement litigation, other valuation disputes, and penalty defense. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Florida, his law degree from St. Thomas University School of Law and his Master of Laws degree from University of Florida Levin College of Law.
Heymann is a member of the Trusts & Estates Practice Group in Atlanta. He focuses on helping business owners and high-net-worth families preserve their hard-earned wealth through sophisticated income and wealth transfer tax planning strategies. Heymann adds practical experience to his law practice from prior work in the Probate Division for the Twelfth Judicial Circuit Court of Florida and in trust administration and wealth strategy for two of the largest financial institutions in the country. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Miami, and his law degree and Master of Laws degree from the University of Miami School of Law.
Lindy is a member of the Tax Controversy & Litigation and International Tax Practice Groups in Atlanta. She represents individual, partnership/pass-through, and multinational corporate taxpayers, with a special focus on cross-border and international tax issues in disputes, audits, appeals and litigation with the IRS. Lindy also counsels individuals, multinational entities, accountants and other tax service providers on complex international tax controversy, compliance and voluntary disclosure matters. She earned both her undergraduate degree and her Master of Laws degree in taxation and international taxation from the University of Miami, her Master of Business Administration and law degree from Nova Southeastern University and her Master of Laws degree in international law from Emory University.
Jeffrey S. Luechtefeld
Luechtefeld is a member of the Tax Controversy & Litigation Practice Section in Atlanta. His practice focuses on resolving tax disputes with the Internal Revenue Service, administratively or through litigation. Previously, he was a director in the tax controversy practice of a big four accounting firm. Prior to that, he was a litigator for the IRS Office of Chief Counsel. Luechtefeld earned his undergraduate degree from Missouri State University, his law degree from the University of Missouri School of Law and his Master of Laws degree from University of Florida Levin College of Law.
Jack Najarian is a member of the Corporate, Securities & Finance Practice Group in Houston. He serves businesses ranging in size from Fortune 500 companies to small businesses and their owners and has a diverse deal background in business and real estate. He assists clients with all aspects of real estate, M&A, corporate formation, and business law, and prides himself on being the lawyer that helps get the client’s deal closed while protecting the client in the process. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Houston Honors College and his law degree from the University of Illinois College of Law.
Offerman maintains a general civil litigation practice in state and federal courts, with an emphasis on employment law. She has substantial experience defending employers nationwide in wage-and-hour class and collective action lawsuits. Offerman has also successfully represented clients in cases involving contract disputes, trade secret misappropriation, non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, and allegations of wrongful termination, discrimination, and retaliation. In addition, she represents businesses in investigations by state and federal administrative agencies, including the Texas Workforce Commission and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Prior to joining Chamberlain Hrdlicka, Offerman clerked for Justice Phil Johnson of the Texas Supreme Court. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin and her law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law.
Overstreet is a member of the Tax Planning & Business Transactions Group in Houston. He has significant experience forming, structuring, negotiating, and implementing business acquisitions and dispositions, corporate reorganizations, mergers, conversions, recapitalizations, and establishing equity-related incentives for management and key employees. Overstreet serves as outside general counsel to midsize businesses and assists clients with corporate governance, commercial agreements, and mergers and acquisitions. He also regularly helps family-owned or closely held businesses with designing and implementing business succession plans and with business divorce, deadlock, and separation matters. Overstreet earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Texas A&M University and his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law. He is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of Texas.
Unzeitig is a member of the Tax Controversy and Litigation Section in San Antonio. He focuses on a wide range of federal tax controversy and litigation matters at all stages before the IRS and federal courts. Unzeitig has successfully represented clients in significant cases involving worker classification issues, method of accounting issues, international tax issues, captive insurance, and general collection matters. Prior to joining Chamberlain Hrdlicka, he served as a judicial clerk to Judge Juan F. Vasquez at the U.S. Tax Court in Washington, D.C. He earned his undergraduate degree from Trinity University, his law degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law and his Master of Laws from Georgetown University Law Center. He is also a Certified Public Accountant and Board Certified in Tax Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
Waddell maintains a multifaceted practice focused on the issues and concerns of business owners, including contracts, mergers, lending, acquisition of real estate, corporate and business succession and wealth preservation. He has assisted lenders with a wide variety of small and large transactions. In the commercial real estate arena, Waddell has handled sales and purchases of apartment buildings, shopping centers and large tracts of land for development, and the sale and purchase of golf courses and office buildings. He also advises on a broad range of corporate matters, from day-to-day operational matters to mergers and asset purchases. Waddell has also developed a special focus on business succession planning for small to midsized family businesses. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and his law degree from Syracuse University College of Law.
