Atlanta Office Expands with new Associates
Chamberlain Hrdlicka is pleased to announce the addition of tax attorneys Jerrika C. Anderson, Hunter W. Ragsdale and Jala N. White to its Atlanta office. Anderson and White join as associates in its nationally-recognized Tax Controversy & Litigation practice, where they will advise and represent taxpayers before federal, state and local taxing authorities and in all federal and state courts where tax disputes are litigated. Ragsdale joins as an associate in the Estate & Income Tax Planning & Estate Administration practice group, where he will work with individuals, families and business owners to understand their unique needs and assist in crafting an estate plan that not only honors their past but also helps them prepare for the future.
Jerrika C. Anderson
Anderson focuses her practice on advocating for taxpayers in complex tax controversy matters. Prior to joining the firm, she served as a senior attorney for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Through her years with the IRS Office of Chief Counsel, Anderson gained valuable experience and firsthand knowledge of IRS procedures including litigating in U.S Tax Court, preparing pleadings and drafting advisory opinions. She previously worked with an accounting firm as the head of the tax controversy group where she managed a team of accountants, led appeals to dispute tax liens and levies, and advised clients in local and state tax matters. While in law school, Anderson served as a legal intern with Judge John H. England Jr. in the 6th Circuit Court in Alabama. She earned her undergraduate from the University of Alabama and her law degree and Masters of Law in Taxation from the University of Alabama School of Law.
Hunter W. Ragsdale
Ragsdale focuses on helping business owners and families preserve their hard-earned wealth through sophisticated income and wealth transfer tax planning strategies. While in law school, he worked year-round as a law clerk in three separate Alabama law firms. Through his time as a law clerk, he has gained experience with estate planning and administration, family business organization and maintenance, corporate and pass-through entity taxation, real estate acquisitions and sales, and nonprofit entities, among other areas. Ragsdale earned his undergraduate degree and graduate degree from the University of Alabama, and his law degree and Masters of Law in Taxation from the University of Alabama School of Law.
Jala N. White
White focuses her practice on a variety of complex tax controversy issues. Prior to joining the firm, she served as a summer associate for a Georgia firm, conducting legal research, preparing comprehensive briefs and writing on employment law issues. While in law school, she was a graduate academic assistant and a member of the Black Law Students Association. During this time, White also served as a clinic student at the Philip C. Cook Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic, where she assisted attorneys and clients with tax controversy matters. Her dedication to community outreach was honored when she received the Atlanta Bar Foundation J.B. Moore Tax Clinic Client Service Award. White earned her undergraduate degree from Auburn University, her law degree from the Georgia State University College of Law and her Master of Laws in taxation from the New York University School of Law.
