In Volume 4, Issue 5 of Attorney at Law Magazine, Metro Atlanta Edition, Annette A. Idalski is profiled for her successful law practice and recent triumph against the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) in a case for Gate Guard Services. Idalski, chair of Chamberlain Hrdlicka’s employment and labor group in Atlanta, started practicing law in 1995, and has obtained hundreds of successful outcomes for her clients. But, none stand out as much as the victory she won for the small Corpus Christi, Texas, oil field services company that provides gate guards at oilfield drilling sites. The DOL claimed that Gate Guard Services should have classified workers as employees, and ordered the company to pay the U.S. government some $6 million in back wages and overtime for the gate attendants.
