HOUSTON, October 13, 2025 – Chamberlain Hrdlicka is pleased to announce that Mark D. Sherrill has joined the firm as a shareholder in its Bankruptcy practice. Sherrill brings extensive experience in bankruptcy and insolvency matters and previously served as co-managing partner of Eversheds Sutherland’s Houston office. His addition underscores Chamberlain Hrdlicka’s commitment to expanding the depth and breadth of experience across all practice areas firmwide, especially within its Litigation department.

Sherrill will focus his practice on bankruptcy and insolvency law, working collaboratively with attorneys across the firm to provide strategic guidance on matters involving financial restructuring, insolvency, and related legal complexities. His background includes experience in many of the country’s largest bankruptcy cases and with derivatives and other commodity contracts. Sherrill advises energy companies and commodity traders on managing risks with financially distressed counterparties and helps companies assess credit and liquidity risks.

Sherrill is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the International Swaps and Derivatives Association, and the Futures Industry Association. Sherrill was recognized by the Legal 500 United States for his work in the corporate restructuring and bankruptcy area, named to The Best Lawyers in America® for bankruptcy and creditor debtor rights, and selected as a Super Lawyers® “Rising Star” in Washington, D.C.
Sherrill earned his undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University and his law degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law. After earning his law degree, he clerked for the Honorable Randolph Baxter of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Ohio.
