Ryan Cantrell, shareholder and leader of Chamberlain Hrdlicka’s Probate & Fiduciary Litigation group, has been appointed Vice Chair of the State Bar of Texas Pattern Jury Charges – Family and Probate Committee for a one-year term. Additionally, Cantrell, who has served as a committee member since 2019, has been reappointed to continue representing District 4 for another three-year term.
The Committee was created in 1987 to monitor statutory and case law developments in family and probate law and to develop and revise standardized jury instructions used in Texas courts for family and probate matters. The committee consists of judges and practitioners with demonstrated expertise in the various areas of practice under review by the Committee.
Cantrell maintains a diverse litigation practice, representing clients in probate and fiduciary litigation, labor and employment litigation, governmental defense, complex commercial litigation, and construction litigation and arbitration. In the area of probate and fiduciary litigation, he represents trustees, executors, beneficiaries, individuals, and business entities in all types of complex litigation matters including will contests, trust disputes, beneficiary claims, fraud, and breach of fiduciary duty claims.
Deeply involved in the legal community, Cantrell is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and an active member of the American Bar Association; the Houston Bar Association; the Attorneys in Tax and Probate Association; and the Houston Estate and Financial Forum.
