On February 5, 2025, The Hill published an article featuring insight from Former Commissioner of the IRS and Shareholder Chuck Rettig on the federal employee hiring freeze.
Rettig drew on his experience as the former commissioner and noted that the IRS had a freeze in years prior. “Every facet of IRS operations will be significantly impacted by the current hiring freeze,” Rettig wrote.
"Fortunately, IRS employees are resilient and have considerable experience with hiring freeze operations," Rettig wrote. "IRS employees do their best with the limited resources and support received."
