Habeeb “Hobbs” Gnaim, Chamberlain Hrdlicka’s Tax Planning & Business Transactions Section Chair, participated as a panelist to discuss the critical understanding of both business and tax planning considerations required to successfully advise family business owners at the State Bar of Texas’ 31st Annual Advanced Estate Planning Strategies Seminar, held at the Eldorado Hotel & Spa in Santa Fe, New Mexico on April 24-25, 2025.

The presentation, “Bridging Generations: Succession, Structure, and Strategy with Family Businesses” explored key issues facing family businesses, from succession planning and governance to legal structuring. Gnaim, along with fellow panelists, provided insights into best practices for ensuring a smooth transition while preserving business continuity, as well as balancing the interests of the individuals and business itself. Key discussion topics covered transition planning, governance strategies, legal and tax structuring, the role of fiduciaries, and common pitfalls and corrective strategies.
