Andre “Andy” V. Bardos is a Partner in the Tallahassee office of Shutts & Bowen LLP, where he is a member of the Appellate Practice Group.
With more than 20 years of experience, Andy handles complex litigation and appeals for both public and private clients. He frequently represents state agencies in high-profile cases. Andy has defended the Florida Department of State and Supervisors of Elections against challenges to Florida's election laws, represented the Florida House of Representatives in redistricting litigation, and defended the Florida Legislature in constitutional challenges to legislative appropriations.
In 2018, Andy was a member of the legal team that represented then-Governor Rick Scott and the National Republican Senatorial Committee during post-election recounts and recount-related litigation in the race for United States Senate.
Andy has authored numerous appellate briefs in state and federal court, including briefs on behalf of state colleges and universities, and served as Special Counsel to the President of the Florida Senate. As Special Counsel, Andy participated in the development of legislation and served as policy coordinator to the Judiciary Committee, the Health Regulation Committee, and the Ethics and Elections Subcommittee.
Andy has been recognized across the legal industry, being honored in Best Lawyers in America® for Commercial Litigation, named to Florida's Legal Elite list, and recognized as one of the State's Top Government Attorneys by Florida Trend.
