Victoria Méndez Presents During Miami-Dade County League of Cities Panel Discussion

Shutts & Bowen LLP Miami partner Victoria Méndez recently presented on the panel titled “Understanding Proposed Property Tax Reform, Impacts, and Alternative Revenue Sources” at the Miami-Dade County League of Cities Attorney Luncheon Seminar.

Victoria and her fellow panelists covered proposed reforms, their potential impact on municipal budgets, and alternative non-ad valorem revenue sources available to local governments.

The discussion comes at a critical time, as the Florida Legislature is actively considering various property tax reform proposals during the current legislative session. It is anticipated that a measure addressing these issues may be placed on the November 2026 ballot for voter consideration.

The Miami-Dade County League of Cities, established in 1953, serves to unite the common interests of municipalities throughout Miami-Dade County.
