Stefan Rubin, a partner in Shutts & Bowen LLP’s Orlando office, recently spoke on a panel during the Federal Securities Institute and M&A Conference on February 27, 2026, in Tampa, Florida.
During the “Ethics for Transactional Lawyers” panel, Stefan and his co-panelists discussed the top ethical issues transactional attorneys are currently facing. The panel explored legal vulnerability when clients utilize videoconference recording and transcription tools; new risks that old NDAs do not prevent or protect; legal and business risks of using Generative AI products by both clients and attorneys; evolving risks posed by deep fakes; and the lack of attorney-client privilege where a client uses an AI tool before hiring a lawyer.
Also representing Shutts at the conference were partners Rikki Lober Bagatell, Sally Woodward, R. Alan Higbee and attorney Brianna Lohmann.
