Shutts & Bowen LLP is pleased to announce that Lanny Russell has joined the firm’s Jacksonville office as a Partner in the Construction Litigation Practice Group.

Lanny brings more than 35 years of experience representing clients in complex construction and commercial disputes. His practice focuses on matters involving real estate development, construction defects, contract disputes, insurance coverage and related business litigation. He represents a broad range of clients including owners, developers, contractors, design professionals and lenders in sophisticated, high-value matters.

Lanny has served as Chair of the Jacksonville Bar Association’s Professionalism Committee and as Chair of the Jacksonville Public Library Board of Trustees. He is a former University of North Florida Trustee and currently serves as Vice President of Hubbard House Foundation, Inc.’s Board of Directors.

He has also held key roles as Chair of the Fourth Judicial Circuit Grievance Commission and as a member of the Florida Supreme Court Committee on Standard Jury Instructions.

Lanny earned his Juris Doctor, with honors, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and his undergraduate degree, cum laude, from the University of South Florida.
