Miami, FL – Shutts & Bowen LLP is pleased to announce that Heidi Howard Tandy has joined the firm’s Miami office as a Partner in the Intellectual Property Practice Group.
Tandy, who is Board Certified by The Florida Bar in Intellectual Property Law, has nearly 30 years of experience on intellectual property law. She advises clients on corporate, licensing and litigation matters involving the internet, social media, privacy and technology, and her diverse clientele ranges from content creators and technology developers to corporations and business owners. In addition to protecting and managing trademarks, copyrights, websites and apps across industries, Tandy manages domestic and international trademark portfolio, has overseen hundreds of USPTO applications and represents clients before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, the World Intellectual Property Organization, and in federal and state courts.

Tandy is active in The Florida Bar’s Business Law Section and the American Bar Association, where she serves on multiple committees. She is a member of the Program on Information Justice and Intellectual Property at American University Washington College of Law and is involved with International Trademark Association (INTA), where she currently serves as Subcommittee Chair for the Exceptions and Limitation Committee.

She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and her juris doctor from Washington College of Law at American University. She is admitted to practice in Florida and New York.
