Hassun represented The RMR Group and its affiliate, the owner of the Nautilus Sonesta Miami Beach, before the City of Miami Beach Historic Preservation Board. They obtained approval for a major renovation of the indoor and outdoor common areas of this historic building. Working collaboratively with the City of Miami Beach, the owner and the operator of the hotel, Sonesta International Hotels, was able to redesign the spaces to complement the architectural and historical features of the hotel, while also elevating the guest experience and improving functionality.
The Nautilus Sonesta Miami Beach Hotel is a AAA 4 Diamond-rated hotel. Originally designed in the 1950s by famed “Miami Modern” architect Morris Lapidus, this South Beach oceanfront hotel is a nod to the Golden Age of midcentury design.
