In a recent article by Florida State University’s College of Social Science & Public Policy, Shutts & Bowen’s externship program was featured for the experience it provided to a current student.

This year, Shutts had the distinct pleasure of hosting Alaina Babb, a standout undergraduate student from Florida State University, as part of a unique externship opportunity typically reserved for law students.

Alaina is a third-year undergraduate student pursuing a dual degree in Political Science and Media Communication Studies, with minors in History and Latin American and Caribbean Studies. As one of the only undergraduates in the firm’s history to be selected for this role, her inclusion is a testament to her academic excellence and deep interest in the legal profession.

During her time with Shutts, Alaina reviewed and analyzed legal contracts, attended meetings with development groups, and engaged with attorneys across practice areas to gain valuable insight into the operations of a full-service law firm. She was highly recommended to the firm by Brandon Williams from Metro Development Group.
