
Shutts & Bowen LLP Tampa partner Erik Matheney recently spoke during the George Edgecomb Bar Association (GEBA) May CLE event on May 20, 2026, at the Sam M. Gibbons United States Courthouse.
During the CLE presentation, Erik discussed “The Anatomy of a Federal Civil Trial” with his co-presenter, Judge Anthony Porcelli, of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. The presentation broke down the phases of trial, offering strategies and insight on the presentation of evidence, opening statements, closing statements and courtroom conduct.
