Shutts & Bowen LLP West Palm Beach partner Elizabeth M. Jones, a member of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group and its commercial leasing team, will be a featured speaker in an upcoming National Business Institute (NBI) webinar course focused on commercial lease drafting, review, and negotiation on February 5, 2026.

Titled “10 Commercial Lease Errors You Can’t Afford to Make,” this CLE course is designed to help attorneys, real estate professionals, and paralegals identify and address unfavorable lease language before it becomes binding, protecting clients from unanticipated financial, legal, and operational consequences. The program will provide practical guidance for practitioners seeking to strengthen their commercial leasing skills and better safeguard their clients’ interests.

Elizabeth’s presentation, “Overlooking Options and Flexibility: Renewal, Expansion, Early Termination, and Purchase Options,” will address how these provisions can significantly impact a client’s long-term operational flexibility and financial exposure if not carefully negotiated and drafted. Drawing on her experience advising landlords and tenants on complex commercial leasing matters, Elizabeth will share practical insights and real-world examples to help attendees identify and avoid costly drafting and negotiation pitfalls.
