Miami International Litigation and Arbitration partner Eduardo de la Peña Bernal has been invited to participate as a panelist on the topic of “Arbitration with State Parties" in a specialized seminar organized by the Centro de Conciliación y Arbitraje de Panama (CeCAP). Titled “Seminario de Actualización en Arbitraje Nacional e Internacional,” the 2-day event will take place at the Hotel Westin Panama on October 22-23, 2025.
Eduardo’s panel will focus on defining state rights versus arbitral autonomy; rebalancing and arbitration clauses, in the face of regulatory changes in PPP contracts; evidence and access to information vis-à-vis the public sector in arbitration; and international enforcement of awards against states, including obstacles and creative solutions.
CeCAP’s main objective is to promote the use of arbitration, mediation and conciliation as ways of resolving disputes in the international and national business community.
