Shutts & Bowen LLP is pleased to announce that Orlando partner Brett Renton was recently re-appointed Chair of the Florida Airports Council Legal Affairs Committee.
The Legal Affairs Committee provides members of the Florida Airports Council with updates on the latest developments in federal and state law as it applies to airports, with particular emphasis on regulatory matters affecting the industry (FDOT and FAA). In his role as Chair, Brett will continue his work in tandem with his committee members to educate airport lawyers and non-lawyers on non-airport, Florida-specific legal issues. Brett has substantial experience in aviation legal matters, having represented the Sanford Airport Authority for more than a decade.
Founded in 1969, the Florida Airports Council (FAC) is composed of members representing all 20 of Florida’s commercial service airports, more than 70 of the state’s publicly-owned general aviation airports, a Spaceport, a Seaplane Base and more than 350 corporate, educational, affiliate, student chapters and student members. According to the organization, “the Council is committed to the professional growth of its members and the advancement of aviation infrastructure statewide. Through educational programs, conferences, webinars, and seminars, the Council equips members with the tools to excel in their roles and prepare for future leadership opportunities.”
