Shutts & Bowen LLP Miami partner Bernard “Bernie” Pastor was recently accepted into the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), a prestigious, invitation-only national organization comprised of experienced trial lawyers and judges.

Founded in 1958, ABOTA is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the civil jury trial right guaranteed by the Seventh Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The organization seeks to elevate the standards of integrity, civility, and professionalism within the legal profession while advocating for the continued vitality of the civil justice system.

Membership in ABOTA is extended only to attorneys who have demonstrated substantial civil jury trial experience and who exemplify the highest levels of skill, ethical conduct, and dedication to the legal profession in the courtroom.

About Bernard Pastor

Bernard “Bernie” Pastor is a partner in the Miami office of Shutts & Bowen LLP, where he is a member of the Business Litigation Practice Group. A Florida Bar Board-Certified expert in Civil Trial Law with extensive first-chair experience in federal and state courts, Bernie focuses his practice on complex civil litigation. He has managed and tried a wide range of matters, including civil rights, wrongful death, tort, and commercial disputes. A seasoned trial attorney, he has successfully tried to verdict nearly 30 federal and state jury trials and has handled numerous appeals and oral arguments before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
