Alyssa Cory, a partner in Shutts & Bowen LLP’s Tampa office, was recently appointed Chair of The Florida Bar’s Appellate Programs Committee.

The Appellate Programs Committee is tasked with planning, securing sponsorships and coordinating the Section’s Annual Dessert Reception, and a reception at the Florida DCA Judge’s Conference.  Additionally, in this role of Chair of the Programs Committee, she supports the planning and execution of the 2026 Appellate Practice Section Retreat. The reception at the Florida DCA Judge’s Conference will be held in February and the Dessert Reception is held in June during the Annual Meeting of the Florida Bar.

Alyssa L. Cory is a Partner in the Tampa office of Shutts & Bowen LLP, where she is a member of the Appellate Practice Group. Alyssa handles appeals and civil litigation support in a variety of cases in federal and state courts. Her practice covers complex commercial and business appeals, including appeals in all six Florida District Courts of Appeal, the Florida Supreme Court, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. She assists clients with trial preservation, and developing and framing key legal arguments.
