02.18.2026

Law.com recently featured Holwell Shuster & Goldberg LLP partner Jack Millman in its How I Made Partner series, highlighting Jack’s path to partnership and the experiences that have shaped his approach to litigation, advocacy, and leadership.

In the Q&A, Jack discusses how his time clerking at the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth and Eleventh Circuits influenced his understanding of judgment, preparation, and decision-making at the highest levels.

Jack, who is HSG’s fourth partner to have clerked on the U.S. Supreme Court, also shares practical advice for associates navigating their own careers, emphasizing intellectual curiosity, accountability, and the importance of mastering both trial-level work and appellate strategy.

At HSG, Jack maintains a nationwide litigation and appellate practice and remains deeply involved in mentoring associates, recruiting, and pro bono initiatives. He is a former captain in the New York and Ohio Army National Guards, and he received a Bronze Star Medal for his service in Afghanistan. He currently serves as an adjunct professor at his alma mater, New York University School of Law.
